Gulai is a type of spiced stew found in South East Asia and Sayur means vegetables. Gulai is characterised by a rich, aromatic sauce made from coconut milk and a blend of ground spices.

Steps:

  1. Bring water to a boil and then add 1 tsp of salt.
  2. Once boiling, cut kale or greens. Boil until half cooked.
  3. Remove and drain the greens.
  4. Saute the ground spices to make their fragrance "bloom".
  5. Add the coconut milk and stir until it comes to a boil.
  6. Add the greens, salt, sugar, and white peppers.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes, adjusting seasonings as needed. Cook until desired texture for greens (e.g. crunchy or soft) is reached.
